Excursions

Excursions are eight exciting musical journeys for trumpet and piano, taking you to Spain, the Sahara or the Antarctic. On each of these trips, the intermediate trumpeter has to face a special - very trumpet-specific - challenge, of a musical or technical nature. This could be using various mutes, looking at ways to correct your intonation, or adding ornaments. On the CD, the trumpet part was recorded live by Allen Vizzutti; for each piece an accompaniment to play-along with is also provided. Playing together with a pianist is rewarding for both musicians, as these pieces are actually duets for trumpet and piano as equal partners.
