Three Impressions

For me as a composer it is a challenge to write pieces for one melodic instrument, like a kind of self investigation, how inspired and how interesting mine melodic invention appears in such solo compositions.

Melody is the most important element of a composition, and with a work for one instrument you are able in judging the melodic quality and inspiration of the composer concerned.

I am very attached with the sound of reed instruments, especially the cor anglais in his low and medium register and relating the oboe I prefer the medium register in solo compositions.

Most of mine melodies are elegiac and suitable for above mentioned instruments.

With each Impression I stated a few sentences out of the Metamorphoses of Ovidius, not for the program of mine music of course, that is in music completely impossible, but after the reading of these texts there will be an impression or a fantasy with the player or listener individually.
