“We took a break in the spring of 1982, and now we’ve decided it’s time to end it.”
And thank goodness they did! Browse our sheet music and scores, and explore the band who brough such smash hits as “Mamma Mia”, “Dancing Queen”, “I Have a Dream” and “Lay All Your Love On Me”, the one, the only… Abba!
Abba, Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Anderson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad have been instrumental in shaping the development of pop music through the later part of the 20th century. Two years after the band formed, in 1974, they won the Eurovision Song Contest with their hit “Waterloo”, and from there, they took the world by storm.
“Mamma Mia!", based on the songs of Abba, which premiered in 1999, is one of the most successful musicals in the world, and was made into a Hollywood Film in 2008, which also celebrated a sequel, “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again!” in 2018.
With around 400 million records sold, ABBA is one of the best-selling bands of all time. In 1982 they decided to take a short break, but unfortunately, it lasted a lot longer than anticipated. Despite being inactive for so long, their music never lost its popularity, and always remained high up on playlists worldwide, and with their new album, which will be released on November 5th, 2021, they are writing music history again!
So all that is left so say is... “Thank you for the music”!
