Born in London in 1988, as a child, Adele Laurie Blue Adkins loved to sing, especially along to songs by the Spice Girls. Later, she went on study at the BRIT School for Performing Arts.
Thanks to a successful demo that spread quickly through the internet, she soon landed a record deal. Her second single Chasing Pavements reached No.2 in the UK charts, and her debut album 19 reached No.1. To top off a wonderful year, she was awarded not one, but two Grammys, for Best New Artist and Best Female Vocal Performance.
Their second album 21 was even more successful. Her strong, rich voice helped lead her to international success. Three hits from 21, Rolling in the Deep, Someone Like You and Set Fire to the Rain made it to No.1 in the US Singles Charts, a feat that no female British singer had done before her.
In 2012 she received a Golden Globe and an Oscar for the theme song to the James Bond film Skyfall. In 2015 her album 25 was released with the hit single Hello.
Her new album 30 has again stolen the hearts of her fans and taken the critics by storm.
