His Homeland

Although there are various theories about where he was born, it is believed that he was born in a small town called Villa Florida, Paraguay. As a member of the `Orquesta Barrios´ (an orchestra founded by his family), he was surrounded by music from an early age. After exploring the violin, flute and harp, he eventually decided to focus on the guitar.

His Career

In Brazil, in 1932, he introduced himself as `Nitsuga Mangoré, el Paganini de la guitarra de las selvas del Paraguay´, the guitar Paganini from the jungles of Paraguay. `Nitsuga´ is his first name backwards, and `Mangoré´ from the legendary Guarani chief who died for love.
