Darius Milhaud (1892-1974) studied composition and conducting at the Paris Conservatoire. He was one of the most prolific composers of the renowned “Groupe des Six”. His compositions have a relatively simple structure, based on a clear melodic line supported by expressive, often polytonal harmonies.
