Trombonist David Vining is currently associate professor at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. Previous teaching appointments include the University of Kansas and the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Mr. Vining has a Bachelor of Music Performance degree from Florida State University, where he studied with John Drew, and a Master’s of Music Performance degree from Bowling Green State University (OH), where he studied with Paul Hunt. Other important influences to his teaching and playing include: John Marcellus, William Cramer, Arnold Jacobs, Ralph Sauer and Eric Carlson.
