Vangelis played in several groups in the 1960s and 1970s. In 1975 he left his Greece and moved to London, where alongside recording his own compositions, he also began to compose film music. Vangelis’ music can be heard in a total of 21 films, including “Chariots of Fire” (1981) which won the Oscar – Best Original Score, “Blade Runner” (1982) and “1492: Conquest of Paradise” (1992).
