4 pièces pour piano
By working on an abstract "piano material ", the Piano Material cycle focuses on the experience of listening to sound, resonance and the infinitely varied, subtle and refined sound potential of the piano.
The sound is thus a material that must be delicately sculpted by multiple manners of attack, an accurate and gradual control of the different pedals, a sensitive determination of the intensity of each note of the large harmonie volutes that run through the score to create, in turn, luminous flickering or dark and mineral masses.
The pieces Piano Material II, III and IV were commissioned by the Versailles Grand Parc municipal consortium for the students of the CRR of Versailles (France).
