Orchestersatz c-Moll
The Symphonic Praeludium in C minor is an orchestral composition by the Austrian composer Anton Bruckner. The reception history of the work, which was discovered shortly after the Second World War, is confusing and led to the attribution of an orchestrated secondary version to Gustav Mahler, which still dominates musical practice today, although the composition was most probably written by Bruckner himself. Bruckner's pupil Rudolf Krzyzanowski (1895 - 1911) notated the score as a manuscript in 1876. The first page of the 43-page manuscript bears the name Rudolf Krzyzanowski cop. 1876; on the reverse of the end is written in blue pencil: By Anton Bruckner.
Thomas Doss used this facsimile of the autograph as a model for his orchestration for symphonic wind orchestra.
