Description

Beginner to Early Intermediate level. Because you can already read all the notes and play all the keys through the NOTUS PIANO FOUNDATION Textbook, the focus in this book is on the evolution of the interplay of both hands, on new finger techniques, on a more in-depth study of rhythms and playing accents.

The book contains 45 specific exercises and 45 beautiful repertoire pieces by well-known composers. In addition to classical pieces, you will be introduced to the 20th century sound world (Satie, Kabalevsky, Bartók and Shostakovich) and light pieces that are an introduction to blues and rock/pop. Toward the end of the book, there are five very easy pieces for Piano Four Hands, which you will play together at the piano with a fellow student or with your teacher.

Of the three Music Theory Intermezzi, the first deals with the new NOTUS Intervals legend (which clarifies the most important music theory in NOTUS) and the concepts of key, major and minor. The second delves into the tuplets, in particular the triplet, and the third Intermezzo is a complete overview of the time signatures and their corresponding measure accents to end with an overview of the articulation marks.

The book is suitable for self-study or study under the guidance of a classically trained piano teacher. Through daily practice you will evolve very quickly and positively.

Each chapter has its own exercises and repertory pieces. One - To start and warm up. Two - Five-finger positions and extending to octave grip + Italian tempi terms, the key signature, signs for the delayed repeat, anacrusis or pick-up, exercises on sustaining notes with one finger and with multiple fingers. Three - Playing in multiple octave groups + ‘thumb under’ and ‘fingers over’ technique, the broken chord, the sixteenth note and rest and the three Music Theory Intermezzi.

Composers: The book includes pieces by 36 composers including Bartók, Beyer, Clementi, Czerny, Gillock, Gnyesina, Goedicke, Gurlitt, Schmitt, Spindler, Orff, Satie, Shostakovich ...

*: NOTUS Music Notation is an independent new music notation that is easy and very quick to learn. It is equivalent to classical music notation (for all instruments and all levels of difficulty). It is ideally suited for the adult beginner and for all those who have difficulty learning complex classical music notation.
