B. Wayne Bisbee sparks new life into an old favorite with his setting of “Deck the Hall.” Instead of the traditional 4/4 chorale melody, Bisbee has written a lilting jig in 6/8 and sometimes 7/8 with optional soloistor small group on the middle stanza. The melody is cheerful and festive, with a wonderful echo effect on the final “fa la la's.” This festive dance-like version of “Deck the Hall” would make a great concertor festival opener for the holiday season.
