The Flemish composer and conductor Orlando di Lasso (1532-1594) was working in Italy, England and the Netherlands. From 1556 on, he worked as the conductor of the Bavarian court orchestra in Munich. He mastered all the compositional techniques of his time and is considered the most important composer of the late Renaissance. His complete works amount to over 2000 vocal and instrumental compositions, including masses, passions, madrigals and chansons/songs. Orlando di Lasso originally composed TIBI SOLI PECCAVI (“You have sinned”) for mixed choir.
The Czech composer and arranger Vladimír Studnická has created a version of the song for large wind orchestra. The result is a pedagogical work that is excellent for warming up and tuning. The - from a technical point of view - minimalist score allows maximum concentration on various parameters of training a wind orchestra, such as working on balance, intonation and ensemble playing.
