Description

Die Musik zu Brechts Bühnenwerk „Die Rundköpfe und die Spitzköpfe“ geht weit über das übliche Maß hinaus – zwischenzeitlich hatte Eisler selbst seinen Beitrag sogar als „Oper“ bezeichnet. Zudem enthält die Partitur einige bekannte Lieder wie die „Ballade vom Wasserrad“ oder das „Lied von der belebenden Wirkung des Geldes“, die längst auf den Konzertpodien ihren Weg gemacht haben.

Die Ausgabe bietet erstmals die Fassung von 1962, die Eisler kurz vor seinem Tod für eine Inszenierung in Hannover zusammengestellt hat. Diese Fassung zeichnet sich durch Vollständigkeit aus und enthält alle Gesangsnummern in relativ einheitlicher Instrumentierung.
