From its mysteriously quiet introduction to its thundering conclusion, Grieg's most famous theme makes a perfect addition to the repertoire for baritone-tuba quartet. In his arrangement, Halferty intentionally keeps technical requirements as reasonable as possible so student players can focus on the special challenges of a steadily increasing tempo and intensity. Besides its obvious merits as a contest or festival selection, we think this will make a great change-of-pace feature during concert band programs.
