John Williams only penned the scores for the first three Harry Potter films. The music for Part 4 was written by Patrick Doyle, Parts 5 and 6 by Nicholas Hooper, and the final two parts by Alexandre Desplat.
John Williams did not actually win an Oscar for any of the Harry Potter films. The First Part, “Harry Potter & the Philosopher’s Stone” was beaten by Howard Shore’s score for the First Part of Lord of the Rings . John Williams currently has 5 Oscars and 52 Oscar nominations to his name.
