Festliche Serenade

The great festive evening music, fed by various European roots, has a tradition in many German military music genres. It was not subject to a fixed schedule; this was only established by the Bundeswehr after 1955. The ceremony, however, was largely reserved for the military, so that it quickly became necessary to compose comparable festive music for amateurs.

The "Festive Serenade" by Hans Hartwig, first performed in front of Wolfegger Castle, finally closes this gap. Understandably, the composition is based on the elements of the Great Tenon Strike and is divided into march - solemn retreat - religious part and finale. However, instead of the national anthem, the beautiful folk song "Kein schöner Land in dieser Zeit" is heard here.
