Description

The Hymn Tune Kensington was written by Herbert Howells in 1969. It is in an 87 87 87 metre, and was originally intended to be sung with the words To The Name Of Our Salvation, written by JohnMason Neale in 1851. It has also been used with the words God Who Spake In The Beginning, written in 1968 by Fred Kahn. It is in F major, with a comfortable range for the melody part with a simple but lyricaltune.

Herbert Howells (1892-1983) was an English composer and teacher, who is perhaps best known for his choral music in the Anglican tradition.
