Four Bassoon Rags (2004) are enjoyable rags with surprising twists off the well-known rag form. The bassoon is given numerous opportunities to present itself in a humorous and virtuoso manner.
Composer's note
Originally written for piano solo, the original piece is longer than this one-minute version. The piano version is called “Peggy’s Rag,” written in 1996 at the composer Peggy Glanville-Hicks’s house in Paddington, Sydney and dedicated to the late composer who left this house rent-free to composers to live in for some months.
