On a November evening in 1811, two fatal shots were fired in a remote spot on Lake Wannsee. Exactly what happened is a matter of conjecture, but what is certain is the German Romantic playwright Heinrich von Kleist and his companion Henriette Vogel died. This story was the inspiration for "Lake Wannsee".
