A slow and expressive introduction soon gives way to a syncopated accompaniment played with mallets on tabled bells. Later passages mellow out to full chordal textures and flowing, eighth-note lines before returning to the opening material. This work is arranged for 2-3 octaves and 3-5 octaves of handbells.
