Konzertmarsch
With his rousing concert march “Höhenflieger”, Gerhard Lampert symbolizes the idea of rising and reaching new heights – be it in music or in life itself. The powerful, lively first part encourages us to dare to set out for new goals and heights with determination. The wide, gentle melody of the first trio theme give us a relaxed view of the 'world down there' from an aerial perspective. When this theme finally turns into the triumphant Forte-Tutti, the perspective shifts away from the present: the beauty of the path traveled becomes conscious, and the almost transported euphoria gives rise to the strong certainty of being able to safely climb future peaks.
In terms of composition, Gerhard Lampert masterfully follows the tradition of classical concert marches. Finally, Franz Watz put the proverbial icing on the cake with his, as usual, impeccable instrumentation.
